This POS (point of sale) system is part of Mercaware ERP and was developed to help companies connect their sales directly to accounting services.
Our goals were to develop a simple, modern, and intuitive POS system that is suitable for users with varying levels of technical knowledge and that makes financial management easier and more transparent for store owners.
In addition, OrbitFlow automates all process steps—from inventory management and batch tracking to mobile-supported delivery. The solution offers: intelligent batch tracking, automatic inventory synchronization, and mobile POS functionality with TSE compliance.
After conducting user interviews and research, several key problems were identified:
Many store owners use outdated POS systems that are not fully digital.
Employees struggle with complicated interfaces and confusing processes.
The “daily closing” often leads to errors.
Most POS systems are not connected to accounting.
POS systems do not have a clear user flow and do not communicate well with the user.
Users want a modern, intuitive POS system that supports them rather than slowing them down.
Simple and clear processes are more important than too many functions.
There is a high demand for integration with accounting systems to save time and avoid errors.
A user-friendly, guided interface builds trust and reduces errors.
Less loss of goods and more transparency.
Fewer manual processes in delivery and warehousing.
Based on user insights, a POS system was designed that focuses on simplicity, clarity, and smooth operation.
Step-by-step processes for complex tasks.
Direct connection to accounting.
Consistent navigation and clear icons.
Responsive layout for all devices.
Registration flow – for new users who create an account in the ERP system and connect the POS system.
Setup flow – after installing the POS system: start of day, add categories and products.
Daily workflow – the main workflow from registration and setup to sales and closing the day.
End-of-day workflow – process for checking sales, closing the day, and creating reports.

The design of the POS system for Mercaware was more than just the development of a tool—it was about helping companies simplify their daily operations and securely manage their sales. This project demonstrated how user-centered design can transform complex processes into clear and intuitive experiences. With the next development steps, the POS system will be further expanded into an intelligent and flexible solution for companies of all sizes.
