01. Project overview

The Cashflow Conference is the largest finance conference in Germany. Leading investors from the real estate, stock, crypto, and business sectors gather here for two exciting days full of knowledge and networking.

The Cashflow Conference App (CFC app) is a mobile solution that enhances the conference experience for attendees before, during, and after the event. Through user research, interviews, and on-site testing, the app was developed to solve real communication and usability problems at CFC 2024–2025. The result is a more personal, structured, and stress-free event experience based on clarity, speed, and user orientation.

02. Research

The research was a combination of surveys and direct conversations with visitors during the Cashflow Conferences 2024 and 2025. The goal was to understand how visitors experienced the event and what situations caused frustration or confusion.

We spoke with visitors at various points in time—during check-in, between presentations, and after the event—to get an honest picture of their experience. The mix of quantitative insights (survey results) and qualitative feedback (personal conversations) helped us identify the most important areas for improvement.

Research goals:

03. The challenge

Through qualitative interviews during the 2024 and 2025 conferences, we were able to identify the following main problems for visitors (aged 28–60):

Updates or delays in the program were not communicated in real time.

Tickets were sold and managed through an external platform, which made the process less smooth.

No possibility for personalization (e.g., saving favorite speakers or sessions).

Important presentations or announcements were missed because no notifications were sent.

04. The approach

The app focuses on real-time information, ease of use, and a stronger connection between visitors and the conference.

Real-time push notifications: Instant updates on changes, delays, or important announcements.

Ticket management in the app: Tickets can be purchased, saved, and upgraded directly in the app.

Easy navigation: Clear access to schedule, speakers, and program highlights.

Favorites & personalization: Save favorite speakers, sessions, or catering options.

Based on the identified user problems and the developed solutions, the CFC 2026 app aims to achieve the following results:

75 %

More efficient communication

60 %

Faster access to information

80 %

Fewer missed announcements

46 %

Greater engagement

Visual insights

conclusion

The CFC app is more than just a digital tool—it forms the basis for a new, user-centered conference ecosystem. By connecting visitors and organizers in real time, reducing stress, and providing a clearly structured digital user journey, the app enhances the overall quality of the Cashflow Conference experience.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful UX and communication design can transform a live event into an intuitive, memorable, and scalable experience. The insights gained from this project will guide the further development of the app and future optimizations based on user feedback.
